Dominican Republic

From the opposition to the National Palace

From the opposition to the National Palace, the new President of the Dominican Republic Luis Abinader took office on Sunday. It is the first time in 16 years that the Dominican Liberation Party will not be in power. The challenges for the new president are enormous because of the coronavirus pandemic that has so far claimed the lives of more than 1,400 people and at least 86,000 infected. Since Santo Domingo, Jessica Hasbún talks about the economic crisis the new government will face.
